Luxury Yacht Wreck Off Sicilian Coast: Sixth Body Found

Divers have found a sixth body in the wreckage of the luxury yacht Bayesian after it sank in one of Sicily’s deadliest maritime tragedies. Italian media reported that the body found was that of 18-year-old Hannah Lynch, who had been missing since the yacht sank near Porticello in eastern Palermo.

Twenty-two people were aboard the Bayesian when it went down in severe weather including Hannah. The bodies of the five victims were identified early on. Her father, Mike Lynch was one of them; a high-profile tech entrepreneur. The yacht was found at a depth of 50 meters (164 feet) and rescue teams are working hard to recover the victims.

Those killed in one of several attendants were Morgan Stanley International Bank chairman Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy Bloomer, and eight others including a mariner named Recaldo Thomas with six-year-old Magnolia man about town grin Morvillo besides his parents Christopher also Neda. Thomas’s body was located earlier, near the wreckage.

Divers have had to make 12-minute shifts retrieving the bodies, with difficult conditions making recovery efforts even harder. Searchers have continued to look for the man despite trying conditions ever since Monday when the incident happened.

The Italian Coastguard spokesperson said there is no request to raise the yacht on the agenda right now, and it’s questionable whether such a move would be made, making it impossible to confirm its identity definitively.. Divers also said the ship is virtually intact in its underwater grave, complicating efforts to raise it.
