Tragic Shooting at Apalachee High School: What We Know

In a heartbreaking incident, Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, experienced the deadliest school shooting of the year on Wednesday. Here’s what we know so far:

The Incident A 14-year-old student, Colt Gray, opened fire at the school, killing four people and injuring nine others. The victims include two students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, and two teachers, Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Christina Irimie, 53.

The Response The shooting began at around 10:20 a.m. ET. Law enforcement and school resource officers quickly arrived on the scene. The shooter was confronted by a school resource officer and surrendered without further incident.
