Mariah Carey, the famous singer, is going through a very sad time. She lost both her mother, Patricia Carey, and her sister, Alison Carey, on the same day.
Mariah shared her feelings with People magazine, saying, “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.”
Patricia Carey was 87 years old. Mariah feels grateful that she could spend the last week with her mother before she passed away. She thanked everyone for their love and support and asked for privacy during this difficult time.
Mariah, who is 55 years old, is the youngest of three siblings. Patricia and Alison are survived by Mariah and her brother, Morgan Carey. The causes of their deaths have not been shared.
Patricia Carey was an opera singer and vocal coach who studied at Juilliard. Mariah and her mother performed a Christmas duet of “O Come All Ye Faithful” for an ABC holiday special in 2010.
