ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – The St. Louis Blues signed defenseman Philip Broberg and forward Dylan Holloway to two-year contracts on Tuesday.
The signings came after the Edmonton Oilers declined to match the offer sheets on August 13. In return, the Blues will send a 2025 second-round draft pick to the Oilers for Broberg and a 2025 third-round pick for Holloway. Additionally, the Blues will trade their 2028 third-round pick and unsigned 2023 fifth-round draft selection Paul Fischer to Edmonton for future considerations.
Broberg, a first-round pick by the Oilers in the 2019 NHL Draft, appeared in 12 regular-season games with the Oilers and 49 games with the AHL’s Bakersfield Condors, where he recorded 40 points (five goals, 35 assists). He also contributed to the Oilers’ 2024 Stanley Cup Final run, scoring three points (two goals, 11 assists) in 10 postseason games.
Holloway, drafted by the Oilers in the first round of the 2020 NHL Draft, is a 6’1″, 206-pound forward who played in 38 regular-season games and 18 games for the Condors, scoring 25 points (16 goals, nine assists). He also recorded seven points (five goals, two assists) in 25 postseason games.
