The Pentagon was set to brief Elon Musk on Friday regarding U.S. military strategies for potential conflicts with China, according to two U.S. officials. Another official confirmed the briefing would focus on China but provided no further details. A fourth official acknowledged Musk’s scheduled visit to the Pentagon but refrained from elaborating.
Both Pentagon officials and former President Trump denied that the meeting would involve discussions about China. In a late-night social media post, Trump stated, “China will not even be mentioned or discussed.”
Uncertainty remains about whether the briefing for Musk will proceed as planned. Granting Musk access to some of the nation’s most sensitive military secrets would mark a significant expansion of his advisory role under Trump, aligning with efforts to cut government spending and eliminate policies and personnel deemed oppositional.
