Lenny Kravitz Dedicates 2024 MTV VMA Win to Late Mother

Lenny Kravitz made a heartfelt tribute at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards. The 60-year-old rock star won the award for Best Rock for his song “Human” and dedicated his win to his late mother, Roxie Roker.

During his acceptance speech, Lenny shared a touching memory. He recalled how his mother, who passed away from cancer in 1995, was with him at the 1993 VMAs. “Thirty-one years ago, my mother was with me at an award show, was at the VMAs, so I dedicate this to her,” he said. He expressed his gratitude for the journey he’s been on and thanked his fans, team, and the director of the “Human” music video.

Roxie Roker was best known for her role as Helen Willis on the classic TV show The Jeffersons. Lenny’s tribute was a beautiful reminder of the bond they shared and the impact she had on his life and career.

Lenny’s performance at the VMAs was also a highlight of the night. He performed a mix of his hits, including “Fly Away” and “Are You Gonna Go My Way,” alongside Quavo and his longtime guitarist Craig Ross.

This win and dedication show how much Lenny values his mother’s memory and the influence she had on his music and life.
