A Miami-Dade police officer has been placed on administrative duty after an incident involving Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill. Hill was detained by the police just hours before the Dolphins’ season-opening game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The incident happened near the stadium when Hill was pulled over for a traffic violation. According to reports, Hill was briefly handcuffed and held on the ground by the police. This led to concerns about the use of force by the officers involved.
The Miami-Dade Police Department has started an internal investigation to review the officers’ actions. Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, expressed his client’s distress over the situation but confirmed that Hill was physically okay.
Despite the incident, Hill played in the game and helped the Dolphins secure a 20-17 victory over the Jaguars. The police department will continue to look into the matter to ensure proper conduct by its officers.
