Deadpool & Wolverine Scene Explained: Why Was Thor Crying?

Anyone who follows the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is familiar with its complicated timelines and elaborate twists, as it constantly raises questions among fans and viewers. One question that has left fans scratching is Why Thor was sobbing over Deadpool’s dead body in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie. Now, this is a pretty interesting scenario itself.

The Scene: A Closer Look

The image in question resembles a reused footage from Thor: The Dark World. In the image, Thor is crying with what seems to be the corpse of Deadpool. But why would the Thunder God, who is a strong and resilient man break down into tears for Deadpool?

Theories and Possibilities

Well previously, when Deadpool and Wolverine were being brought into the MCU there were plans to utilize a major part of Thor: The Dark World as a way to introduce them with everything else that would go on in said event. So, we guess that this scene was a remnant of an idea; one they left in as a bit of an Easter egg or also because it might entertain fans.

Setting Up a Future Event

This scene hints at an event that might happen shortly. But maybe down the road, a storyline akin to Secret Wars — where Thor joined forces with Deadpool and they bonded on their journey before reaching an endpoint that had appeared fatal for Wade Wilson which could be what caused such early concerns & impactfulness when it comes up ‘long after‘ in Aronofsky‘s starred fan films. But seeing Deadpool’s regenerative powers at work, this death might be pronounced upon him as a sophomore death on his way to its permanence turns Thor into even more of a fool for crying over someone who cannot remain dead.

The Scar on Thor’s Eye

One of the biggest ones in the scene is, Thor’s right eye with a scar through it which wasn’t there before (The Dark World), and also its presence can be noted again later on. This could mean the scene was not recycled footage, but that it had been altered in some way. Given the scar is digital, this scene could be post-Ragnarok inserting some carry behind that future theory.

He presents a Comic Table Stomp of Deadpool & Thor

Thor and Deadpool have a relationship in the comics, to say the least. Deadpool, whose regenerative powers mean he can take a ton of punishment, even fights an evil version of himself (a fellow with his healing factor) and the result is one endless battle after another. Thor crushes them to ash with a bolt of lightning in hopes of ending the fight. They regenerate in the same body. This weird scenario does eventually get sorted out but demonstrates just how wacky and random Deadpool’s run-ins with other heroes can be, even a hero as powerful as Thor.
