After pursuing a 15-year-old girl for 45 minutes, a teenager was convicted of fatally stabbing her in the street.
Following an incident in January of last year in the Priestpopple neighborhood of Hexham, Northumberland, Holly Newton suffered 36 knife wounds.
Unknown due to his age, a 17-year-old teenager pleaded manslaughter but denied murder, saying he had only intended to terminate his own life that day and that his mind had gone blank.
While attempting to assist Holly at the scene, a 16-year-old guy who was with her was also stabbed.
The 17-year-old said he couldn’t recall stabbing Holly or the youngster, but he was also found guilty of wounding with intent at Newcastle Crown Court.
